Celebrating a year of achievement

Health workers from across North Kirklees came together to celebrate the third anniversary of the local Primary Care Trust (PCT).
Ten staff from across the PCT were awarded with long service awards by PCT Chairman Barry Seal and Chief Executive Philip Sands at the Gomersal Park Hotel, Gomersal.

John Regan, a former locality manager for Dewsbury, now working as a portfolio manager for heart disease at the PCT received a special recognition for his 40 years service to the NHS.

Nine other staff received special commendations for their 25 years service. They each received a framed certificate and were supported by more than 100 staff from the PCT as well as health workers from local surgeries and health centres.

Many other staff working in the Trust were also thanked for their own personal achievements which have contributed to the improved care of patients in North Kirklees.

Philip Sands said the celebration event was about thanking all local NHS staff for their hard work and continued commitment to improving people’s health.

Barry Seal said: “Health staff in North Kirklees are providing a first class service and I want thank everyone who has dedicated their life to supporting people through sickness and back to health.”

The PCT holds the NHS budget for the local population of more than 175,000 people. It steers the work of GP practices and provides services such as a health visiting, district nursing and occupational therapy. It makes sure that hospital care, specialist treatment and mental health services are available when needed and is committed to helping people to take control of their own health.
