| Twelve prominent U15 cricket
teams from around the world are participating in the Tournament sponsored
by the Isle Of Man Cricket Association and is being played on a four day
tour at the spectacular ground in Isle of Man. The teams include two from
Yorkshire, Isle Of Man, Australia and India. The Tournament is expected
take place from first week of August and the team will be on tour from
the 31st July 2005 It is a holiday with a difference, a cultural experience, a team building exercise...the opportunity of a lifetime and an experience you will never forget. At this stage winning really is not of prime importance. What is really crucial is to get them playing good positive cricket. Obviously we want to win, but it’s more important to teach them to play the game as it should be played. When they move on to higher levels, winning will get more and more important. Right now, what’s most important is playing good, positive cricket. I think motivating them is the key and I like to remind them of their programme for the four days. I tell them exactly what they should do in the nets. They need to practice with purpose. There’s no point coming to the nets and routinely hitting the ball. They have to have a plan and work towards it. From here they have to start working on their careers. It’s a good opportunity for them, representing Mount U15 outside England. They’re playing good oppositions and because of that we’ll get to know the strengths of these players straight away. We would like to thank Tansu Chinese and Japanese Furnishing at Skopos Mill in Batley for sponsoring Mount U15, Kirklees for contribution towards the cost of this tour, Hanif Master (Kiddies Kingdom) for giving his support and to the parents who have shown great support to these upcoming cricketers especially parents Mohammed Taj and Mohammed Patel. If there is any business that wants to contribute towards this tour, as we still require funds, please email farid.karolia@ntlworld.com.” Team: Aden Rowe (Dewsbury), Huzefa Patel (Dewsbury), Mohammed Patel (Dewsbury), Adil Taj (Batley), Azar Laher (Batley), Wassim Rabbani (Westtown), Uzar Majid (Westtown), Umar Majid (Westtown), Ismail Patel (Saviletown), Kamran Rashid (Raventhorpe), Qadir Gafoor (Raventhorpe), Wassim Hussain (Raventhorpe), Safaz Shazad (Batley), Faizan Saleem (Dewsbury) and Anis Rawat (Batley).
